Almost three decades ago, Julie Figueroa moved to sunny Arizona to attend Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunication. While studying to earn her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, she met the man of her dreams, married him and never looked back. Julie went on to earn her master’s degree in educational leadership at Northern Arizona University before becoming a mom and working with her husband to raise three pretty amazing children.
During her years in Arizona, Julie has had the pleasure of working in several diverse fields — from being a courier and cargo handler for Federal Express, to serving the people of the great city of Phoenix as a 911 operator and police radio dispatcher. She has worked in public relations, media and community relations, for Motorola, Farnam Companies and the Phoenix Police Department. She also served as the development director for the ACGYF, a non-profit foundation founded by former NBA Iron Man, AC Green.
After 14 blissful years of doing freelance PR, social media, writing and editing work from home while raising her kids, Julie recently stepped back into the “work-outside-your-home world.” She is delighted to be part of the SparkPoint Studio team.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Julie is an avid (New England) sports fan and a bit of a history nut. She is a proud baseball and dance mom and adores her family. Additionally, she loves all things autumn, road trips, good food, books and music, the theater and trips to New England — especially in the summer and fall.
