Ever since her dad read her The Berenstain Bears before bed as a kid, Samantha has not been able to get enough of the worlds that can exist in the pages of a book. She was often told to “put down the [expletive redacted] book and go outside,” but usually settled for moving outside to read.
As she grew older and pondered what she wanted to do in life, she kept coming back to one thing: stories. She loved stories. Books, movies, TV; it didn’t matter the platform. After graduating magna cum laude from Bradley University with a degree in Public Relations and minors in Professional Writing, Social Media Marketing, and Leadership, she enrolled in the Denver Publishing Institute to get a taste of what life in book publishing would be like. She went in with a laser focus, intending to come out with a position in publicity or marketing, but the more she learned, the more open to different types of positions she became.
After graduation from DPI, she took a position as a bookseller at Barnes & Noble to gain insight on industry trends. She simultaneously held an internship at Texas Lifestyle Magazine, and was later promoted to Editorial Assistant. Samantha joins SparkPoint Studio as our Editorial Project Manager for SparkPress and She Writes Press.
