Phoenix, AZ – BookSparks has partnered with the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC), based in Seattle, WA, and bestselling author Amy Hatvany for the annual BookSparks SpeaksOut campaign.
Each year BookSparks partners with an author to shine a light on a critical issue our country is facing and to raise money in support of a related organization. In 2017 BookSparks partnered with master storyteller Amy Hatvany, author of It Happens All the Time, and the KCSARC to raise our voices against sexual assault during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April 2017.
Over the course of this month-long campaign, hundreds of authors, readers, bloggers and media celebrated It Happens All the Time and spoke out against sexual assault.
Amy Hatvany and It Happens All the Time were featured in numerous national media outlets timed to Sexual Assault Awareness Month including InStyle, Real Simple, Redbook, Brit + Co, I Am That Girl, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, The Globe and Mail, US Weekly, Clover Letter, BookBub, Buzzfeed, Seattle Times, and more.
BookSparks donated 30% of all verified proceeds from sales of the book on April 19, 2017 to the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center. For more information about the SpeaksOut campaign, visit gobooksparks.com/speakout17/.
