Spark Spotlight: Meet our editorial project manager, Samantha!

Our Sparks are some of the most talented people you will ever meet and we love to brag about them. That’s why we’ll be sharing a few fun facts about them in our series, Spark Spotlight. Today, meet our editorial project manager, Samantha Strom!

What is your favorite book of all time and why? I’m super indecisive, so instead I’m going to give you my favorite of the year, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. When I picked it up, I was in a reading funk. I had been struggling my way through an 800+ page work that didn’t capture my attention, and was starting to question my commitment to pursuing publishing. I was working the register at B&N, and someone left it behind the counter on a particularly slow day. I was only going to read the first 10 pages so I could talk about it with customers, but the next thing I knew I was 150 pages in and my shift was over. It reinvigorated my passion for books.

If you could switch places with anyone for a day (real or make believe) who would it be? I don’t know why, but my answer for this has always been Julie Andrews.

Where is your favorite place in the world? I don’t think I’ve found it yet.

What’s a fun fact that people would be surprised to know about you? Somewhere, in the deep corners of the internet, there are gifs of my face.
