Phoenix, Ariz. – In the seven years since Kamy Wicoff founded She Writes, its growth has been remarkable. After being acquired by SparkPoint Studio in 2014, She Writes has experienced remarkable strides. In addition to crossing the 30,000-member threshold, She Writes also launched its first ever writing retreat. Held in November 2016 in Arizona, this event hosted dozens of talented female writers and secured Rebecca Skloot, author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, as the keynote speaker. Following this event, in April 2017, the website was given a complete redesign for a more modern look and sleeker navigation. In the Spring of that same year, She Writes University, a program designed to educated and excelerate women’s writing careers was launched. The webinar series featured Rebecca Skloot once again, Dani Shapiro and five other writing and publishing experts who contributed a series of powerful courses. By the time She Writes celebrated it’s 7th birthday, an onslaught of accomplishments and milestones set the pace for what’s to come from the world’s larges online community for women writers.
