This weekend was a big one for BookSparks as they took to New York City for author interviews at The Skimm and an exciting author panel at POPSUGAR Playground. Visiting the The Skimm headquarters, Sara Shepard and Megan Abbott gave readers the lowdown on some of their favorite books and their drink pairings. The Skimm will be releasing these interview on their Instagram account throughout the summer so look out for the perfect summer cocktail and book pairings coming soon.

On Saturday, June 9, POPSUGAR kicked off their inaugural entertainment festival, POPSUGAR Playground, drawing crowds from all over the country to enjoy two days of inspiring interviews and seminars. Along with celebrity appearances from Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, and Tiffany Haddish, influencer-led workout classes and pop-up shops from both local and national companies, BookSparks put together a panel of bestselling authors to talk about their experiences in adapting their books to TV and movie.

The BookSparks Flip the Script panel, moderated by POPSUGAR senior editor, Laura Marie Meyers, brought book lovers an enticing discussion with authors Sara Shepard, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Tomi Adeyemi, Megan Abbott, Kendare Blake, Camille Perri and Georgia Clark. Drawing a large VIP crowd, fans were thrilled to hear from some of their favorite authors, making the panel and weekend a total success.
