Black Coffee
Intentionally number one on my list. I think the office would frown on me administering it intravenously, so I always have a full mug at the ready (with none of that sugary crap in it, please and thank you very much). I’m a full time student, in addition to working at SparkPoint, so coffee is my lifeline and the only way I can get through the twelve-hour days. Also, this is one of my favorite quotes that I really try to live by, I’m not about complacency.
Sticky Notes
Not very interesting, but oh so necessary. I use them for phone messages when people call, but they’re also the only reminder system that really works for me. I have them stuck to files, the insides of my desk drawers, my computer monitor… basically, everything has a sticky note on it, telling me what the heck is going on with my life.
My Carnelian
I’m a geology enthusiast (aka a big nerd) and a bit new age-y (aka a big hippie). Carnelian is a grounding stone and a motivator. My boyfriend has a matching stone on his desk. When he’s having a stressful day at work, I’ll text him a picture of my hand holding the stone, and he does the same for me. Regardless of any crystal magic that may or may not be goin’ down, it’s our way of staying connected when things get bananas.
The Stapler
Ah, the coveted gold stapler. The object of my co-worker’s envy. When you’re livin’ dat admin life, papers are getting thrown on your desk constantly. Receipts, invoices, memos, requests, etc… so I like to keep a stapler handy so that what goes together, stays together (although usually I am hunting it down because someone has “accidentally” forgotten to return it. Yeah… I see you, Robert).

This picture is of me and my fur baby. My boyfriend and I adopted him last fall and I now volunteer regularly at the shelter we got him from (Arizona Animal Welfare League). I love spending time with the dogs at the shelter and I can’t imagine life without my Dobby (yes, as in the house elf from Harry Potter. Did I mention I’m a big nerd?)
