April 7, 2021. The Book Industry Study Group (BISG) has announced a slate of nominees for its Board of Directors that includes She Writes Press and SparkPress Publisher Brooke Warner. Candidates were selected to fill six seats across four of the six supply-chain segments represented on the BISG Board, including publishing, distribution, retailing, and industry service partners. Seats for manufacturing and library representatives are filled though June 2022.
A nominating committee drawn from former board members and a current committee chair reviewed all applications and recommended six candidates for two-year terms starting July 1, 2021:
Warner will be joined on this slate of incoming candidates by:
- Paul Gore, FADEL
- David Hetherington, knk Software
- Dan Kok, Crossway
- Joe Matthews, Independent Publishers Group
- James Miller, Barnes & Noble
Mr. Hetherington and Mr. Kok are returning to the BISG Board for a second term. The full BISG membership will be asked to approve the slate of recommended candidates at the Annual Meeting on April 23, 2021.
