Our Sparks are some of the most talented people you will ever meet and we love to brag about them. That’s why we’ll be sharing a few fun facts about them in our new series, Spark Spotlight. This week, meet one of our publicists, Savannah!

 

What is your favorite book of all time and why?  All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. There are so many reasons why this book is my all time favorite. First and foremost, the author is based in Boise, my hometown! It’s also a Pulitzer Prize winning novel, and the writing is so exquisite I found myself taking pictures of the pages so I could come back to them time and time again. It’s one of those books you come back to over and over, not just for its magical storytelling, but because of its evergreen life lessons and ability to make you feel deeply.

Where is your favorite place in the world? There is a place in Idaho, nestled in the Boise National Forest a few miles north of the small town of Crouch, population 162. A rough, dirt road follows the middle fork of the Payette River. Along the road are places to camp, fish and simply exist. It’s remote, to say the least, but there’s nothing quite like the feeling of sitting in a camping chair, reading a delectable book and taking in the aroma of exceptionally tall ponderosa pine trees.

What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a meteorologist. I was, and still am, obsessed with weather. When I was little, I religiously watched the Weather Channel, and whenever there was a hurricane or major disaster I would give my family nightly “news reports” with all the updates from the day.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? “Be the kind of person the world needs more of.” I received a minor in nonprofit leadership, and that line was in one of my textbooks. It’s stuck with me ever since.

What’s a fun fact that people would be surprised to know about you?
I have a four-year-old sister!

If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Tickle Me Pink. Still bright and colorful, but not as in-your-face as some of the hot pinks!
