With seasoned experience in the traditional publishing and women’s media industries, key hires bring additional innovation, results and growth strategies to the studio as it celebrates 10 years and looks ahead

Phoenix, Ariz. – April 22, 2019 In April, SparkPoint Studio welcomed two new directors to its industry-leading publicity and marketing teams. Keely Platte joins the publicity team as the new Publicity Director and Lauren Millea Goveo joins the marketing team as Marketing & Events Director, a new position for the fast-growing company.

Platte is a seasoned book publicist who was most recently Principal for Keely Platte Public Relations, leading title campaigns for clients such as HarperCollins Children’s Books and Kensington Books, as well as individual authors. Prior to that, she worked for eight years in literary publicity and communications at TarcherPerigee, Riverhead Books, Putnam Books, and Peachpit Press. During her career, she’s had the pleasure of working on campaigns for authors such as Anne Lamott, Ken Follett, Julia Cameron, Bryan Bliss, Adam J. Kurtz, Caroline Kaufman, and Scott Barry Kaufman on all types of genres, including literary fiction, business & career, celebrity memoir, parenting, health & wellness, and children’s.

Platte is coming on board to manage SparkPoint Studio’s industry-leading publicity division, BookSparks, and lead strategic direction for all author and publisher campaigns. To date, BookSparks has executed hundreds of successful and innovative book publicity campaigns for debut and New York Times’bestselling authors and for dozens of big and small publishers.

Lauren Millea Goveo is a public relations and marketing professional with over a decade of diverse experience in the online women’s media industry and events business. As the former Director of Public Relations with SHE Media (formerly SheKnows) and a marketing professional at Creative Arts Agency, Goveo developed skills in marketing, talent relations, public relations, and event planning. Goveo’s passion for people and knack for collaboration have worked together to achieve exceptional results. She has experience executing large and small-scale events, such as BlogHer conferences, and is comfortable handling A-List talent, influencers, press, and fulfilling marketing objectives.

Goveo will be taking over strategic management of the company’s existing events, like the All-Female Author Retreat held every other year in Cave Creek, Ariz., as well as seeking new opportunities including frequent pop-up events of all sizes in collaboration with brands, influencers, authors and talent. In this brand-new role for the company, Goveo will create new growth opportunities and expand the company’s services, offerings, partnerships, and influence.

In 2019, SparkPoint Studio celebrates 10 years of being in business. With the addition of Platte and Goveo, the studio gains years of seasoned experience and leadership that will help continue the company’s drive toward growth, innovation and continued stellar results and opportunities for its clients.
