Dear clients, authors and friends,

2019 is a milestone year for us – our 10-year (diamond) anniversary. 10 years ago, BookSparks was one woman at her dining room table hustling to work in an industry she was passionate about. Fast forward 10 years and we have launched more than 600 campaigns for hundreds of authors, storytellers and talent (TV shows, influencer campaigns, entrepreneurs creating their brands), launched our own publishing company (SparkPress) and acquired two more (She Writes Press and SheBooks), acquired the largest community of women writers (SheWrites.com) and launched our very own community of women readers (SheReads.com).  We’ve had the pleasure of working with authors, celebrities and brands that we only dreamed of in the beginning and we’ve launched or been a part of so many careers taking flight. Our influencer network and BookSharks community is thriving. Our social media fans have grown to tens of thousands and we love that they share our passion. We’ve had a busy 10 years to say the least!

Every year we pick a word, our North Star, for the year ahead. In the past it’s been community, passion, and, most recently, equality (thus we launched our first ever diversity scholarship and can’t wait to publish this incredible new voice). This year, in honor of the 10-year anniversary, our word is brilliance.

What is brilliance? Intense brightness of light (we shine the light on so many wonderful female storytellers and issues), exceptional talent (my team is so talented and we are challenging ourselves to continue to come to the table with the best ideas as we so often do, because we care so much). Brilliance is also artistry, distinction, excellence … this is what we will strive for in 2019 and for the next 10 years. Nothing less than our very best work and ideas.

Why brilliance? Because we have brilliant clients, a brilliant team, brilliant ideas and we’ve always been considered a thought-leader and a company doing things differently and innovatively since our first day at that dining room table. We’ve done really cool and amazing things in the last 10 years and have big shoes to fill to always be ahead of the curve. We want to shine a light on all of you, with all of you, and celebrate our 10th birthday all year long. We will be looking back at some of our favorite moments while challenging ourselves to be brilliant in every way and look for new ways to shine for the next 10 years.
